The Most Vital Powers Mid-life Women Must Employ to Stay Young

Gerontologists say that 70 % of growing older is controllable with the right lifestyle choices.  Age-defying experts agrees, and has explained how and why a 75 year old woman feels and functions as a 50-year old. It’s easy when you start early to make anti-aging way of life and attitude adjustments.  If I can do it, others can do it too.  The traditional aging process that our society has adopted pointlessly relegates middle age folk to early decline.  There’s a better way.

Here are 5 of her power tools for smart girls ( and men, when they’re not too determined to listen ) to help control the process of aging :

1.  Take control.

Aging is unavoidable but getting old is strictly a choice.  Smart girls don’t buy into society’s outmoded model for aging ; instead, they consistently grow and improve, defying convention and horse-and-buggy practices and customs.  If you’re not taking charge of your life, and you just let life happen life will just occur, and the result will be typical, fossilized old age we accept as standard.
Bottom line is smart ladies decide how old they’re going to be irrespective of how old they actually are.

2.  Inventory and monitor youthful traits.

Observe old folk.  What is it about their oldness you would like to avoid?  How robust and flexible are you, mentally and physically?  Can you bend and touch your toes?  Can you walk up steps without becoming out of breath?  Keep and improve what you can, while you can!  Youth makes us conceited.  Each day we see a plausibly unchanging image in the mirror that slips away even as we admire what we see. Bottom line is smart girls stay aware of what they have and work to keep it.

3.  Plan your future.

By age 50, smart ladies have a plan for a healthy, productive 2nd life at retirement age because they know they’ll doubtless live to one hundred or more.  In 1950, there were a mere 2,300 centenarians.  Today, there could be over 40,000.  By 2050 close to a million folks will be a hundred or more. Bottom line is smart women maximize their future by protecting and building their health, and visualizing their future.

4.  Avoid the final social illness.

No, it isn’t sexually communicated, it’s worse than that it’s self-inflicted, and it’s called retirement.  Once you internalize that you are not productive, that you no longer have goals, decline sets in fast.  Everything slows movement, reaction time, thinking, walking, speaking.  The mind and body go into a shutdown mode in preparation for the final event which is death.  Bottom line is smart ladies rewire instead of retire.

5.  Manage and fix correctable symptoms of aging.

as an example, a slow shuffling gait, poor posture, unattractive teeth, and uncorrected hearing loss.  Invest time, effort, and money where it matters : buy a treadmill and use it daily to maintain a fresh gait, cardiovascular fitness and weight control.  Get on an anti aging diet, and do weight-bearing exercise daily to stay robust and upright. Bottom line is smart women manage how they change with age.
